Howdy, folks. Welcome to the Supa-Wonda-Blog (capitalized out of fear and respect). We will be posting here in response to our readings. Although communication may feel a little less formal here in the blogosphere, try to do your best to appear intelligent and engaged...That means, think about what you want to write, try to avoid typos/im speak, and write more than a few sentences. Don't become the lowest common denominator. Ok...Ok...I'll get off my soap box. We'll be posting and commenting on each others' messages here.
For your first blog comment, what kind of a reader are you? How much do you read? What kind of stuff do you read? What's the last good book you read? Crappy book?

I am the best reader ever. I read millions of pages every day.
I think I have a hard time reading sometimes when the book I am reading doesn't interest me. If I don't understand the book I am reading then I have to read it over a couple of times. I just recently started reading more this summer but I used to not read that much. I like to read "chick flick" books and love stories. The last good book that I read was My Sister's Keeper. I haven't read any crappy books lately luckily and hopefully I won't anytime soon.
I really dont like to read. I only read when I have to. There are very few books that I read for fun. I like to read sport related books. I also like to read books of succes and life lessons from famous athletes, coaches, ect. During high school we got to read books in which we enjoyed rather then required reading for some of the standard reading books. The last good book i read was Beyond Basketball. It was an auto-biography from Duke University and Team USA basketball head coach Mike Krzyzewski. It was a life lesson book. The last bad book I read was The Giver. It just wasnt good.
I like to think that I am a pretty good reader. At least when what I am reading is somewhat interesting. Normally, I don't have a lot of extra time to read. I read the most during summers and vacations while I am laying out in the sun.
The last good book that I read was this summer. I read two of the three book series by Emily Somebody. The first book was called Something Borrowed and the second was called Something Blue. I absolutely loved them and read them both within three days.
Books that I absolutely hate are books about science stuff. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. I also hate reading a book after I have seen the movie because I feel like I don't picture the characters the way I would without seeing them on screen.
I like reading books that will catch my attention from the start and keep my interest throughout the book. I currently read articles on the internet a lot. However last year when I was a lifeguard all I did was sleep and read books to keep myself occupied. The Kite Runner was a very good book along with A Million Little Pieces. I have not read a crappy book because if it is not interesting I will stop reading it after about 30 pages.
I think I am a pretty good reader and I enjoy reading. I am very interested in books about peoples lives. I am a big fan of J.D. Salinger and am currently reading one of his books. The last book that I read that I read that I really like though I have read it a number of times, I really like the Great Gatsby. I do not really remember the last book that I read that I did not like. In all I enjoy reading!
I really wouldn't consider myself an avid reader. I read every so often when I find a good book, otherwise I usually only read mandatory reading books. The kinds of books that I normally read are fiction stories or biographies. The last good book that I read was Catcher in the rye. The last crappy book that I read was Hamlet. I am not a big fan of Shakespeare. The message the book gives is a good one, but I am horrible at interpreting the Shakespearian language which makes the book alot harder to understand.
I think that I am a fairly good reader, but dont read very often. I tend to get side tracked very easily, especially if Im not interested in the book. When I do read I enjoy a good mystery every once in a while. The last good book I read was Angelas Ashes. Which really focused on the struggle and the hardships of a family bound to survive. I haven't read enough books lately to name and crappy ones.
I really enjoy reading as long as I find the material interesting. I think that most people probably would say that they feel the same way. Who likes to do things that their not interested in. Anyway, the last two books I read were the Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. Both of these books were amazing and probably two of the best books I have ever read. I kept wanting to read more and learned a lot about culture in the middle east. I usually hate the books I was required to read in high school. So the last crappy book I read was probably Hamlet. I no its a classic but i personally hated it.
I would consider myself a decent reader. Although I may not read a lot, I still try to read a couple of books when I have nothing better to do. When I hear a certain book is really good or a certain author is good, I try to catch up with those authors or try to read at least one of their greatest novels.
This past year I read a lot more than I usually do. I really liked Dear John, The Pact and other novels by Nicholas Sparks. The last book I read was The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks and I loved it. It was basically a love story and in the end the woman ended up with the man she had loved her whole life. I'd suggest this book to anyone.
I wouldn't consider myself a reader. Once in a while I have the urge to pick up a good book and read, I mainly read books that my friends recommend. I am interested in fiction books, the last good book I read was actually a series called the Stephanie Plum novels. In school, I do enjoy reading Shakespeare, I think they are very difficult, I find myself reading eh text more then once in order to pick up on what is going on in the play, but when I get into the play, it becomes more interesting.
Personally I like to read quite a bit so I guess that makes me well off on the reading spectrum. Most of the books that I read are historical fiction, Tamora Pierce is my favorite author. Reading that is assigned for a class is another story. That kind of reading I usually have to read a couple times over to absorb all of the text. This summer i have not read very much except for the common reading Cion.
I am not a very good reader. I feel this way because I have to always re-read everything over and over. It has to be very quiet and I have to read out loud to my self. I don't really read that much unless it is a magazine out I am required to read it. I like to read "gossip" magazines and I also like "girly" books. I am reading a book right now called "Lovers and Players" I really like it so far. I do not really remember the last crappy book I read but it was probably something for a class.
Well I wouldn't consider myself a great reader but I'm not bad either. I normally can only get into books that I have chosen for myself though which probably isn't a good thing. This past year I read a book titled The Pact and it was by Jodi Picoult and it is now my favorite book. It was basically a love story with some mystery in it.
Reading is a concept that throws me in a loop. I like to read if the content is interesting to me but if it's in no way interesting to me, i can't do it. I usually like to read non fiction. The books I usually like to read are books containing sports. Sports are something that always has been interesting to me. Cion has some very interesting stories, but some of the content is a little strange for me. We will see how this quarter goes.
I would say I'm a slow reader. Although, I do enjoy a good book that is interesting. The only time I read a book other then for school would be on vacation or in the summer. I usually like to read before bed. The last good book I read was called Brutal. It was a true story about a kid growing up in Boston in the 1970's who eventually got into mob buisness. The last bad book I read was The Scarlet Letter. It was one of the most boring books I ever read.
I like to consider myself a decent reader, but I often find myself daydreaming while reading. Which then tends to slow down my reading pace. I find it really hard to get into a book, very few captivate me. I only read a book when it is required, but I will read a magazine article if I'm waiting in a doctor's office. The last good book that I read was Hamlet. Even though it was created by Shakespeare and pretty difficult, I really enjoyed it in the end. The last crappy book that I read was a Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. From the first chapter to the last, I dreaded reading every page.
i really dont mind reading, but i only like to read when i have time and i can pick out my own book. i used to hate reading books for school because the teacher would pick out some of the lamest books ever. Not to mention i'm very A.D.D. so i need a book the keeps my attention. i have read a ton of books over the yrs. but i must say one of my favorite books is a book called BLEACHERS...its about a little town that only loves one thing...Football( um very similar to mine) i could relate with that book better than any other.
